Law360, New York (January 31, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- A consumer reporting agency said Wednesday the U.S. Department of Justice has called off an inquiry into its credit scoring process without taking any action.
The DOJ's Antitrust Division opened an informal inquiry into Experian Group Ltd. nine months ago after the agency unveiled its new scoring system, VantageScore Solutions LLC, in March 2006.
Experian was pleased that the DOJ decided to close its inquiry, according to Kerry Williams, group president of Experian Information Solutions.
