Law360, New York (July 07, 2010, 6:33 PM ET) -- John G. Finley, head of the global mergers and acquisitions group at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, is leaving the law firm to become chief legal officer at the Blackstone Group LP, the private equity firm announced Wednesday.
Finley, who is set to join Blackstone in September, succeeds longtime CLO Robert L. Friedman, who will stay on during Finley's transition, the investment firm said.
