Law360, New York (January 31, 2011, 2:45 PM ET) -- A former Goldman Sachs Group Inc. computer programmer convicted of stealing trade secrets has asked a district court to overturn his conviction or grant him a new trial.
In a brief filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, attorneys for Sergey Aleynikov said prosecutors failed to present evidence to support their claims that the programmer took Goldman's confidential high-frequency trading code to help build a similar system at upstart firm Teza Technologies LLC.
