Law360, New York (May 16, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- Washington Mutual Inc. became the latest financial services company to be hit with a Fair Labor Standards Act suit Tuesday, when a former employee sued the company on behalf of a proposed class of loan processors.
In a complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Laura Houston alleged that Washington Mutual violated the FLSA by not paying its loan processors overtime compensation. Houston said the company classified such employees as exempt from the requirements of the FLSA.
