Limiting The Scope Of EEA: US V. Aleynikov

Law360, New York (February 27, 2012, 1:50 PM ET) -- In a stunning reversal, the Second Circuit on Feb. 16, 2012, reversed the conviction of former Goldman Sachs Group Inc. programmer Sergey Aleynikov, for stealing proprietary source code from the bank’s high-frequency trading program in violation of the Economic Espionage Act and the Interstate Transportation of Stolen Property Act.
