US Balks At Turning Over SEC Notes To Gupta Defense

Law360, New York (February 27, 2012, 7:42 PM ET) -- Former Goldman Sachs Group Inc. director Rajat Gupta should not be allowed to see U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission interview notes as he fights criminal and civil insider trading charges, federal prosecutors said Monday.

Gupta, who is accused of providing inside information to friend Raj Rajaratnam while serving on the Goldman and Procter & Gamble Co. boards, has no right to notes the SEC took during interviews conducted by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York, prosecutors said in a letter to...
