PwC Won't Honor ERISA Duties, Says Retiree Suit

Law360, New York (August 16, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- Former employees of the two companies that merged to form PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP have targeted the auditing giant with a proposed class action suit that says it has refused to recognize their pension plans in violation of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974.

According to the suit, filed Tuesday in the southern district of New York, after the 1998 merger PwC maintained both the pension plans under which named plaintiffs Gary Wyatt and Dov Frishberg had accrued defined benefits during their employment.
