Marsh, Insurance Cos. Hit With Suit By Ohio AG

Law360, New York (August 28, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- After a three-year investigation, Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann filed suit Friday against Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc., the largest insurance brokerage in the world, and four other large insurance companies, alleging violation of the state’s antitrust laws.

In a complaint filed in the Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court, Dann claimed that Marsh conspired with American International Group Inc., Ace Ltd., the Chubb Corp., the Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. and their subsidiaries to eliminate competition and restrain trade in the commercial casualty insurance market....
