Idaho Investment Boss Accused Of $40M Ponzi Scam

Law360, New York (February 27, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has filed a complaint against an Idaho investment manager, claiming he scammed 55 unwitting friends and neighbors out of $40 million in a decade-long Ponzi scheme.

In a complaint filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Idaho, the SEC alleges Daren L. Palmer ran a sham investment company, Trigon Group Inc., that promised unrealistic annual returns of between 20 percent and 25 percent.
