Class Wins Cert. In Syntax Securities Fraud Action

Law360, New York (July 21, 2009, 1:29 PM ET) -- A federal judge has certified a class in a securities fraud action accusing officials at bankrupt Syntax-Brillian Corp. of concealing problems at the once high-flying television maker.

Judge Frederick J. Martone's order, issued Friday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona, rejected the defendants' argument that common questions did not predominate the plaintiffs' claims because shares were purchased at different times through different methods.
