Spansion Balks At Ch. 11 Discovery Bid By Tessera

Law360, New York (August 06, 2009, 5:57 PM ET) -- Bankrupt flash memory maker Spansion Inc. has objected to Tessera Technologies Inc.'s bid to seek discovery through bankruptcy court, arguing that the request is unduly burdensome and an effort to gain an unfair advantage in negotiations related to a patent feud between the rivals.

In an objection filed Wednesday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, Spansion argued that Tessera's motion for an order compelling the production of documents is unfair and seeks information regarding nonbankruptcy litigation.
