NHL Steps Up Fight To Keep Coyotes In Arizona

Law360, New York (August 10, 2009, 2:00 PM ET) -- Having already expressed its displeasure, the NHL has filed a motion to officially bar any bids for the bankrupt Phoenix Coyotes that would see the hockey team leave Arizona for Canada.

The NHL submitted a motion to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Arizona on Friday, seeking to block Richard Balsillie, co-CEO of BlackBerry maker Research In Motion Ltd., from pursuing an effort to move the team to Hamilton, Ontario.
