HSBC Joins Bid To Enforce Stay In Spansion Ch. 11

Law360, New York (September 04, 2009, 2:18 PM ET) -- HSBC Bank USA has signed on to an effort to enforce the automatic stay in Spansion Inc.'s bankruptcy against Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., which is battling the debtor in the U.S. International Trade Commission over flash memory patents.

The bank, as indenture trustee, on Thursday joined a motion filed by a group of noteholders seeking to sue Samsung for pursuing a Section 337 complaint against Spansion before the U.S. International Trade Commission.
