Judge Hears First Objection In Delphi Case

Law360, New York (October 19, 2006, 12:00 AM ET) -- Attorneys in the Chapter 11 case of Delphi Corp. filed the first objection Thursday to over 16,000 claims totaling more than $36 billion that have been filed by unsecured creditors against the bankrupt auto parts supplier.

Judge Robert Drain of the Southern District of New York’s bankruptcy court approved a motion to eliminate duplicate claims and claims filed by stockholders, who are not eligible to file claims in the case, according to news reports.

Additional objections will be heard on Nov. 30, and at future dates....
