Law360, New York (December 04, 2009, 5:29 PM ET) -- When the recession hit, Kirkland & Ellis LLP was well-positioned to vie for the enormous amount of bankruptcy work generated, thanks in part to the firm's deliberate approach to building its 115-lawyer restructuring team.

The Law360 Bankruptcy 100 list for 2009, which looked at law firms with 100 or more lawyers and select boutique firms, found that Kirkland edged out second-place finisher, Bingham McCutchen LLP, which boasts 108 bankruptcy attorneys.
