Winn-Dixie Checks Out Of Chapter 11

Law360, New York (November 21, 2006, 12:00 AM ET) -- Just a couple of weeks after winning court approval of its reorganization plan, Winn-Dixie Stores Inc. has emerged from Chapter 11 with $725 million in exit financing and minimal long-term debt to boot.

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Jerry Funk of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida determined on Nov. 9 that the Jacksonville, Fla.-based food retailer had taken care of its legal responsibilities in its bankruptcy proceedings.
