Court Helps Japan Airlines Fend Off Creditors

Law360, New York (January 29, 2010, 5:45 PM ET) -- A U.S. bankruptcy court has issued a preliminary injunction in a bid to keep Japan Airlines Corp. creditors and litigants at bay as the bankrupt airline waits for recognition of bankruptcy proceedings in Tokyo.

Judge James M. Peck of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York on Thursday granted the company's request for an injunction that bars creditors from calling in debts and potentially ruining its path back to solvency.
