Law360, New York (October 11, 2010, 12:58 PM ET) -- Bankrupt Chemtura Corp. has asked a judge to approve a roughly $5.6 million deal with New Jersey environmental authorities and Dial Corp. that would put to rest claims over cleanup responsibilities for a site formerly used by Chemtura predecessor Witco Corp.
Chemtura filed a request for permission to enter into the settlement on Friday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, demonstrating the bankrupt firm’s steady progress in resolving remaining environmental disputes.
