AbitibiBowater Makes Last Push To Confirm Ch. 11 Plan

Law360, New York (November 05, 2010, 7:32 PM ET) -- AbitibiBowater Inc. argued Friday that remaining objections to its Chapter 11 plan amounted to little more than a claims dispute, discounting allegations of bad faith made by bondholders in a final push to resolve its 18-month restructuring process.

As confirmation proceedings concluded in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, Kelley A. Cornish, an attorney for the newsprint producer, said “the opposition of one lone distressed bondholder” — Aurelius Capital Management — stood in the way of a consensual reorganization.
