Law360, New York (April 06, 2011, 6:45 PM ET) -- Children’s television and merchandise licensing company 4Kids Entertainment Inc. announced Wednesday it had filed a petition to enter Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the wake of a contract lawsuit filed by owners of the rights to the cartoon series "Yu-Gi-Oh!"
The filing in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York covers all of the company’s U.S. subsidiaries but does not pertain to London-based 4Kids Entertainment International Ltd., the company said.
