Judge Clears DBSD To Solicit Votes On $1.4B Dish Deal

Law360, New York (May 23, 2011, 5:54 PM ET) -- A New York bankruptcy judge on Monday approved DBSD North America Inc.'s disclosure statement, allowing the mobile satellite developer to solicit creditor votes on its plan to be purchased by Dish Network Corp. for more than $1.4 billion.

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Robert E. Gerber approved the company's disclosure statement and solicitation materials. He set a schedule for a confirmation process that could put DBSD, a subsidiary of ICO Global Communications (Holdings) Ltd., on a hard-fought path out of bankruptcy after more than two years.
