Law360, New York (May 21, 2012, 6:22 PM ET) -- A bankruptcy judge on Monday approved St. Vincent's Catholic Medical Centers of New York’s disclosure statement and set a June 15 deadline for stakeholders to approve the plan.
U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Cecelia G. Morris said St. Vincent’s Chapter 11 plan, filed May 18, satisfies the requirements of the bankruptcy code and rules.
St. Vincent’s, which operated a 160-year-old hospital in Manhattan and other facilities, returned to bankruptcy in April 2010 after a 2007 reorganization left it saddled with $270 million in debt.
