Law360, New York (September 07, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- Despite the protests of the founding Rigas family, bankrupt Adelphia Communications Corp. has moved to have its long-standing malpractice suit against auditors Deloitte & Touche dismissed in light of a $167.5 million settlement reached earlier this summer.
On Friday, Adelphia filed a motion to discontinue its fraud case against Deloitte in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, moving the suit one step closer to being formally bounced from state court.
A representative from Adelphia could not be reached immediately for comment on Friday.
