Law360, New York (July 03, 2012, 8:59 PM ET) -- A New York bankruptcy judge on Tuesday named the former chief bankruptcy judge in Manhattan as the independent examiner to investigate Residential Capital LLC's transactions with parent Ally Financial Inc. and any settlements reached in connection with its Chapter 11 filing.
Arthur J. Gonzalez, a senior fellow at New York University School of Law, will oversee the details of those transactions. He retired from the bench in March and now teaches bankruptcy law courses at NYU.
