Marcal Urges Court To Approve Settlement With EPA

Law360, New York (September 26, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- Bankrupt Marcal Paper Mills Inc. has urged the federal bankruptcy court yet again to approve its $3 million settlement agreement with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency over Superfund site pollution claims involving New Jersey's Lower Passaic River.

In court papers filed this week with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the District of New Jersey, Marcal responded to protests that the settlement was inadequate from the Lower Passaic River Study Area Cooperating Parties Group, Maxus Energy Corporation and Tierra Solutions Inc.
