Tronox, Kerr-McGee Trial To Resume In Enviro Liabilities Row

Law360, New York (July 19, 2012, 5:04 PM ET) -- After a weeklong negotiating stint between Tronox Inc. and ex-parent Kerr-McGee Corp. proved fruitless Thursday, trial will resume next week in their $25 billion dispute over whether Kerr-McGee purposely stuck Tronox with environmental liabilities prior to its acquisition by Anadarko Corp.

The trial was put on hold July 12, when a filing in the New York bankruptcy court announced its adjournment for one week, during which “the parties [would] participate in settlement discussions through mediation or other alternative dispute resolution mechanisms,” to be kept confidential....
