Trendy LA Nightclub Slides Into Ch. 11, Blames Landlord

Law360, New York (October 03, 2013, 4:56 PM ET) -- The holding company for posh Los Angeles nightclub Exchange LA filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Monday in California federal court, blaming troubles with its landlord and permitting issues with the city of Los Angeles for its financial woes.

Hawkeye Entertainment LLC said it has been forced to spend millions of dollars in improvements to the iconic Pacific Stock Exchange Stock Building in downtown LA, which houses the club, repairs that are actually the responsibility of bankrupt landlord Pax America Development LLC, or its successor....
