Casino Operator Tropicana Pushed Into Bankruptcy

Law360, New York (May 05, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- Casino operator Tropicana Entertainment LLC said Monday that it had been forced to seek Chapter 11 protection.

The company told the Associated Press that it would file its petition in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware Monday evening but said that it expected to continue operations and does not plan any layoffs.

The company allowed the Associated Press to review an early copy of the bankruptcy petition, which listed assets of $2.8 billion and liabilities of $3.3 billion.
