Italy Makes Moves To Allow For Alitalia Survival

Law360, New York (August 28, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- Italy reportedly suspended its competition laws Thursday to rescue troubled Alitalia Airlines SpA.

The Italian cabinet decided Thursday to suspend a law meant to prevent industrial concentration and extended a law that will give Alitalia protection from creditors while the assets of the airline are sold, the International Herald Tribune reported.
