Law360, New York (August 25, 2009, 7:17 PM ET) -- A California jury recommended Monday that Philip Morris USA Inc. pay the daughter of a lung cancer victim $13.8 million in punitive damages, ending a second round of litigation between the family and the cigarette maker that began when a California appeals court ruled that the $28 billion in punitive damages awarded by a previous jury last year was excessive.
