Total Petrochemicals Let Off MTBE Hook In NY

Law360, New York (September 02, 2009, 3:46 PM ET) -- The city of New York has agreed to dismiss with prejudice all its claims against Total Petrochemicals USA Inc. from one of the suits included in the larger multidistrict litigation over pollution from gasoline additive methyl tertiary-butyl ether.

U.S. District Judge Shira Scheindlin signed off on the agreement Sept. 1, with the city of New York, the New York City Municipal Authority and the New York City Water Board seeking to dismiss Total from the case with prejudice.
