Law360, New York (April 19, 2004, 12:00 AM ET) -- EchoStar Communications has asked a judge to transfer the patent lawsuit filed against the satellite television provider by TiVo, a vendor of digital video recorders, from Texas to California, a regulatory filing shows.
EchoStar argues that the lawsuit should be dismissed for lack of personal jurisdiction and transferred to the Northern District of California from the Eastern District of Texas, according to TiVo’s annual report, filed last week with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
TiVo plans to oppose these motions, the company said in the filing....
