Chunghwa, LCD Purchasers Float $10M Antitrust Deal

Law360, New York (January 04, 2010, 6:12 PM ET) -- Direct purchasers have agreed to drop price-fixing allegations against Chunghwa Picture Tubes Ltd. in exchange for $10 million and Chunghwa’s continued cooperation in prosecuting other flat-panel display manufacturers in the multidistrict litigation.

On Wednesday, direct purchaser plaintiffs urged Judge Susan Illston of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California to establish a class and sign off on the $10 million settlement, which provides U.S. consumers with substantial compensation and strengthens their antitrust case against major manufacturers of thin film transistor liquid crystal display...
