Bush Had Power To Issue Oil Pipeline Permit: Judge

Law360, New York (February 25, 2010, 3:32 PM ET) -- A federal judge has trimmed the Sierra Club's fight to stop the Alberta Clipper pipeline, ruling that President George W. Bush had the constitutional power to greenlight the project designed to transport heavy crude oil from Canada to Wisconsin.

Judge Donovan W. Frank of the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota on Wednesday partially granted a bid by the U.S. government and intervenor defendant Enbridge Energy Partners LP to dismiss the suit brought by the Sierra Club and other environmental groups.
