Law360, New York (April 14, 2010, 3:42 PM ET) -- Specialty chemicals company Ashland Inc. has won dismissal from a group of cases in multidistrict litigation alleging several oil companies contaminated groundwater with the gasoline additive methyl tertiary-butyl ether.
Judge Shira A. Scheindlin of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York signed off on an order Tuesday granting the parties' request to voluntarily dismiss Ashland from four cases in the MDL with prejudice.
Attorneys for the parties did not immediately respond to requests for comment Wednesday.
