Law360, New York (June 25, 2010, 4:55 PM ET) -- The U.S. Department of Justice has lost a bid to stay discovery in multidistrict litigation accusing LG Electronics Inc., Hitachi Ltd. and other optical disk drive makers of colluding to fix prices while it pursued a criminal probe.
Judge Vaughn R. Walker of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California denied the DOJ's motion at a hearing Thursday, according to a civil minute order. The order didn't give any reason for the decision.
