Calif. Moves Closer To Enacting BPA Ban

Law360, New York (July 02, 2010, 11:14 AM ET) -- The California State Assembly has passed a bill banning the controversial chemical bisphenol A in plastic baby bottles, sippy cups and food containers for infants, but Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has not indicated whether he will sign the bill into law.

The Toxics-Free Babies and Toddlers Act, sponsored by Democratic Sen. Fran Pavley of Los Angeles, passed by a 43-31 vote Thursday night and heads to the State Senate, where it earlier passed 21-16, for concurrence on minor amendments.
