How Varying Calif. GHG Rules May Hurt The Economy

Law360, New York (July 28, 2010, 1:15 PM ET) -- The law governing the assessment of greenhouse gas impacts under California Environmental Quality Act continues to evolve. After the passage of California Senate Bill 97, but before any regulation existed, lead agencies and project applicants had no guidance. They just knew that the general consensus among CEQA practitioners was that to comply with CEQA, environmental documents should include some analysis of impacts from greenhouse gas emissions.
