Lieff Cabraser, DOJ Brace For 2nd Round In FOIA Feud

Law360, New York (July 23, 2010, 4:39 PM ET) -- A federal judge has rejected cross-motions for summary judgment from Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein LLP and the U.S. Department of Justice, allowing the plaintiffs firm's fight for access to grand jury subpoenas issued during the U.S. government's criminal probe into price-fixing in the optical disk drive industry to rage on.

Judge Vaughn R. Walker of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California administratively denied the cross-motions on Thursday, wiping a hearing scheduled for August off the calendar.
