Apple Extends Nokia Patent War Across The Pond

Law360, New York (September 29, 2010, 5:50 PM ET) -- Apple Inc. has reportedly opened up a new front in its acrimonious legal dispute with rival cell phone maker Nokia Corp. over smartphone technology, launching a patent infringement suit in the United Kingdom.

The two companies are already doing battle in U.S. federal court and the International Trade Commission, but now they will also be litigating before the U.K. High Court of Justice, according to the BBC.

The new suit accuses Finland-based Nokia of infringing nine patents, the news outlet reported.
