NCAA, EA Seek To Dismiss Athletes' Publicity Rights Suit

Law360, New York (January 19, 2011, 7:48 PM ET) -- The National Collegiate Athletic Association and Electronic Arts Inc. have asked a judge to dismiss the putative class action brought by former student athletes accusing the NCAA, EA and The Collegiate Licensing Co. of antitrust and right of publicity violations.

The NCAA and video game maker EA filed separate motions to dismiss Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, saying the plaintiffs failed to allege enough facts to support their breach of contract, conspiracy and antitrust claims.
