Law360, San Diego (September 06, 2011, 3:29 PM ET) -- Oracle Corp. on Tuesday in California agreed to resolve one of its affirmative defenses in its suit against Google Inc. alleging the Android smartphone operating system infringes several of its patents.
U.S. District Judge William Alsup signed off on the parties’ stipulation to dismiss with prejudice Oracle’s claim that Google’s patent invalidity argument was barred by the doctrine of assignor estoppel based on Google’s alleged employment of some of the inventors of Oracle’s seven patents-in-suit.
