Law360, Los Angeles (September 21, 2011, 6:23 PM ET) -- Broadcom Corp. told a California federal jury Wednesday that it's seeking $5 million in damages over Emulex Corp.'s use of computer chips in its products that allegedly infringe six Broadcom patents covering high-speed broadband communication technology.
“Emulex chose these chips carefully and they made no effort to change them after Broadcom said, 'You're using our technology,'” Broadcom attorney Bill Lee of WilmerHale said. “Emulex bears responsibility for the products it puts its name on.”
