Law360, New York (October 17, 2011, 9:30 PM ET) -- A California federal jury on Monday awarded Conceptus Inc. $18.8 million after finding that Hologic Inc. infringed two claims of a Conceptus patent related to permanent, noninvasive contraceptive systems.
The jury also said Hologic failed to prove the two claims from the patent-in-suit — U.S. Patent Number 6,634,361, issued in 2003 and titled "Contraceptive transcervical fallopian tube occlusion devices and methods” — were invalid.
