Atmel Aims To Wipe Off Claims In Fingerprint Case

Law360, New York (July 05, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- Semiconductor company Atmel Corp. has asked the court to dismiss several claims raised in AuthenTec Inc.’s declaratory judgment suit that asserts the fingerprint security company’s fingerprint sensors did not infringe Atmel’s two patents.

Atmel, based in San Jose, Calif., requested Thursday that the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California toss AuthenTec’s allegation that Atmel’s fingerprint reading method patent was unenforceable as well as its tort claims.
