Plimus Sued Over Bogus 'Unlimited Download' Sites

Law360, New York (January 17, 2012, 8:25 PM ET) -- Online marketing company Plimus Inc. was hit with a proposed consumer class action Friday in California federal court accusing the company of false advertising and fraud for its affiliates' marketing of so-called unlimited download sites that the plaintiff claims are a scam.

Plaintiff Kimberley Yordy says the unlimited download sites, run by marketers paid via Plimus for each sale, blatantly lie to customers about the services they offer. The sites allegedly offer unlimited downloads of best-selling e-books, movies and video games for a one-time registration fee....
