Blockbuster, Netflix Not Anti-Competitive: Judge

Law360, New York (July 23, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- A federal judge in a proposed antitrust class action against Netflix Inc. on Monday gave the public a peek inside Netflix and Blockbuster Inc.'s undisclosed settlement of a patent dispute, saying the agreement between the two companies was not anti-competitive.

Judge William Alsup of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California ruled after a private review of the settlement that it was not anti-competitive and therefore need not be produced for discovery in the lawsuit.
