Daubert At Class Certification: Is Less More?

Law360, New York (February 16, 2012, 1:52 PM ET) -- A recent ruling by a federal judge in California has sought to shed some clarity on the analysis of expert opinions during class certification. In Bruce v. Harley-Davidson Motor Co. (Bruce Order), No. CV 09-6588, slip op. (C.D. Cal. Jan. 26, 2012), Judge Christina Snyder in the Central District adopted a “focused” Daubert analysis in excluding the plaintiffs’ key class-certification expert and rejecting plaintiffs’ bid for class certification.
