Philips, Chunghwa Pay $37M To End CRT Price-Fixing Claims

Law360, New York (March 27, 2012, 8:03 PM ET) -- Chunghwa Picture Tubes Ltd. and Koninklijke Philips Electronics NV have agreed to pay a combined $37 million to resolve a class of direct purchasers' allegations that the electronics companies conspired to fix the prices of cathode-ray tubes, according to a motion for settlement approval filed Tuesday.

If approved by the California federal court, the two agreements — $10 million with Chunghwa and $27 million with Philips — will resolve allegations lodged by a group of direct purchasers of CRTs and CRT products that the companies conspired...
