Calif. Faces Enviro Challenge To New River Mining Rules

Law360, Los Angeles (April 04, 2012, 7:20 PM ET) -- A coalition of tribal and fishery groups opposed to suction dredge mining in California's waterways filed suit in state court Monday seeking to halt the implementation of new regulations governing the practice that the group claims doesn't do enough to protect wildlife.

The suit comes in response to a March decision by the California Department of Fish and Game that approved the suction dredge regulations, which allows gold mining on waterways throughout California.
